Germany either goes 100% right-wing or 100% left-wing. There are no in-betweens it seems. The only factor that remains constant is the threat of
Gestapo, Stasi, Multikulti Enforcers.
In a coordinated campaign across 14 states, the German police on Tuesday raided the homes of 36 people accused of hateful postings over social media, including threats, coercion and incitement to racism.
Most of the raids concerned politically motivated right-wing incitement, according to the Federal Criminal Police Office, whose officers conducted home searches and interrogations. But the raids also targeted two people accused of left-wing extremist content, as well as one person accused of making threats or harassment based on someone’s sexual orientation.
That last part is complete bull. The Left doesn’t threaten anyone over their sexual orientation anymore, unless it is Kurdish or Turkish left-wing voters, of course.
“The still high incidence of punishable hate posting shows a need for police action,” Holger Münch, president of the Federal Criminal Police Office, said in a statement. “Our free society must not allow a climate of fear, threat, criminal violence and violence either on the street or on the internet.”
Our free society… hate posting shows a need for police action…climate of fear.
When you really hone in on the words, none of it makes any sense, but the meaning is still absolutely clear: keep your head down and your mouth shut.
The raids come as Germans are debating the draft of a new social media law aimed at cracking down on hate speech, a measure that an array of experts said was unconstitutional at a parliamentary hearing on Monday.
The measure, championed by Justice Minister Heiko Maas for passage this month, would fine Facebook, Twitter and other outlets up to $53 million (50 million euros) if they failed to remove hate speech and other forms of illegal content.
Under German law, social media users are subject to a range of punishments for posting illegal material, including a prison sentence of up to five years for inciting racial hatred.
Germany is trying to set a precedent. They want to shut down a few people to make sure everyone else understands the need to keep their mouths shut.
What will this result in?
For now, German opposition like the AfD party couches its rhetoric in euphemisms about being anti-Sharia and anti-crime. They are reduced to dog-whistling and moderating their views. In time though, even the AfD might find its milquetoast proclamations outside the pale of acceptable speech.
What happens then?
Well, usually when people realize that debate is no longer allowerd and that change is no longer possible through dialogue, they start thinking seriously about other measures…
I’m talking about emmigration of course.
And those that still pray for a resurrection of German Nationalism might be surprised by the form that it takes this time around. After all, it is the poorer Eastern parts of Germany where Nationalistic sentiment is felt most keenly. It is there that AfD polls better. In fact, AfD has started printing its fliers in a non-german language. Guess which language they chose, товарищ.
Russians are a sizeable minority in the East as well, and the Germans living there got to avoid some of the worst aspects of the White Guilt programming because of the Iron Curtain.
What will happen if they get pissed off?
Meanwhile, Merkel is talking about Russian interference in their upcoming elections. She is a shoo-in of course, but it looks like she is worried about the sleeping bear within her own borders. A sleeping, hostile minority that could destabilize the country. I’m not talking about the Turks, of course, no.
It is the Russians that are the problem here. Better keep a close eye on them to be safe.
