Trump Asks House To Investigate Clintons’ Russian Ties

In a series of tweets on Monday, President Trump asked why the House Intelligence Committee, who is investigating Russian interference in the presidential election, isn’t investigating former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s connections to Russia.

“Why isn’t the House Intelligence Committee looking into the Bill & Hillary deal that allowed big Uranium to go to Russia, Russian speech,” Trump’s tweeted, followed by, “…money to Bill, the Hillary Russian “reset,” praise of Russia by Hillary, or Podesta Russian Company. Trump Russia story is a hoax. #MAGA!”

Both the uranium deal and the Moscow speech by Mr. Clinton were reported in an explosive New York Times article. According to the NY Times, four donations worth $2.35 million were made to the Clinton foundation from the Russian controlled company Uranium One, which controls 20 percent of uranium production capacity in the United States.

Because of the strategic importance of uranium resources, multiple agencies needed to sign off and approve the deal. As Secretary of State, Mrs. Clinton provided the Department’s approval.

However, the donations from Uranium One were never disclosed by Mrs. Clinton despite an agreement with then President Obama to publicly disclose all donors.

For his part, Mr. Clinton was paid $500,000 by a Russian bank for a speech delivered in Moscow after the uranium agreement was approved, according to The New Yorker.

Breitbart Editor-at-Large Peter Schweizer further detailed the revelations in the book Clinton Cash.
