Russell Moore Could Be Fired Soon

H/T Rod Dreher

This is the best news I have heard all day:

“Concern is mounting among evangelicals that Russell Moore, president of the Southern Baptist Convention’s policy arm, could lose his job following months of backlash over his critiques of President Trump and religious leaders who publicly supported the Republican candidate. Any such move could be explosive for the nation’s largest Protestant denomination, which has been divided over politics, theology and, perhaps most starkly, race.

More than 100 of the denomination’s 46,000 churches have threatened to cut off financial support for the SBC’s umbrella fund, according to Frank Page, president of the executive committee. The committee is studying whether the churches are acting out of displeasure with Moore because it has received more threats to funding over him than over any other “personality issue” in recent memory, said Page, who will meet with Moore today. …”

It is about time.

I can’t tell you how many times I have read something from Russell Moore that has made me not want to identify as a Southern Baptist. Just from memory, some of Russell Moore’s greatest hits include The Cross and the Confederate Flag, Can The Religious Right Be Saved?, Have Evangelicals Who Support Trump Lost Their Values? and Southern Baptists and the Confederate Flag.

If Russell Moore is fired by the Southern Baptist Convention, we are going to celebrate his demise on this website. It will be a glorious day for Southern Baptists. If you were to ask me to name the single most important reason Southern Baptists are in decline, I wouldn’t hesitate to answer Russell Moore. He is proof of the effect that a single entryist can have on corrupting an institution.

  • If Russell Moore is fired every good southern Baptist should hoist a Confederate flag in celebration.

  • He has a number of cucked, milquetoast, panty-waste, bleeding-heart liberal Southern Baptists who’re pulling out all the stops of keeping this sorry sort right where he is, but I do not know if they are a majority of those who’re paying attention to the issue.

Russell Moore’s most grievous sin in his post at the ERLC was in joining the SBC with an amicus brief on behalf of forcing a NJ community to allow a Mosque to be built there even though they don’t want one.

The SBC is sick, and getting sicker. They hemorrhaged more than 200,000 members in 2015, and that was not an anomaly. Losing big numbers every year. If they continue down this sorry path they will wind up like the Episcopalians — leftwing apostates, and hanging on to membership by a string.

    SBC = Southern Baptist Cucks

  • Moore is connected to George Soros, and he’s disgraceful for his immigration ideas. Yet, so many Christians see him as the “voice of conservatives” (Rod Dreher). He needs to be sacked and discredited.

  • This is actually funny, Moore is just a new and improved version of the same old scam. The reason that Moore has gotten away with this for so long is because he knows exactly how the scam works, and he knows that the “young generation” is embarrassed and humiliated by the previous generation’s scam, both the scammers and the scamees:

“The cultural Christianity around me seemed increasingly artificial and cynical and even violent. … I saw a cultural Christianity that preached hellfire and brimstone about sexual immorality and cultural decadence. And yet, in the church where the major tither was having an affair everyone in the community knew about … I saw a cultural Christianity with preachers who often gained audiences, locally in church meetings or globally on television, by saying crazy and buffoonish things, simply to stir up the base and to gain attention from the world, whether that was claiming to know why God sent hurricanes and terrorist attacks…

I saw a cultural Christianity … enamored with books and audio and sermon series tying current
events to Bible prophecy—supermarket scanners as the mark of the Beast, Gog and Magog as the Soviet Union or, later, Saddam Hussein or al-Qaeda or the Islamic State as direct fulfillments of Bible prophecy. When these prophecies were not fulfilled, these teachers never retreated in shame. They waited to claim a new word from God and sold more products, whether books or emergency preparation kits for the Y2K global shutdown and the resulting dark age the Bible clearly told us would happen.

And then there were the voter guides. A religious right activist group from Washington placed them in our church’s vestibule, outlining the Christian position on issues. Even as a teenager, I could recognize
that the issues just happened to be the same as the talking points of the Republican National Committee. … why was there a “Christian” position on congressional term limits, a balanced budget amendment, and the line item veto?”

Moore is just replacing the old fashioned scam from the 1940s-1980s – now nothing more than an embarrassing relic that only very low IQ retirees actually pay attention to – with a newer, hipper version of the scam: now, instead of the Chambers of Commerce GOP, it’s pro-life liberalism. Instead of Christian Zionism and the end of the world, it’s global warming and “anti-racism.”

What are the old people going to do – point out that he is just running a smarter and modernized version of the same scam they spent their entire lives running?

It really says something not particularly flattering about Southern culture that their largest religious institution is so enamored of African level superstitious nonsense, blatantly exploitative political agendas disguised as religion, and money-grubbing on a level that would make a New York Jew blush at the “chutzpuh.”

Anyway the $BC were always just one step above white trash – they cater to those with middle class aspirations. Sure, they won’t jump around and “speak in tongues” like the retarded Pentecostals, but they aren’t as rich and educated as the Episcopalians or the Presbyterians.

Of all of the big denominations – it is basically ONLY the $BC that so heavily invested in the “Christian” Zionism stuff, because they found natural allies in the Jews. $BC leaders see their victims/congregants as a market of morons to sell product too – just as the Jews do. And by hooking up with the Jews, they got even more material with which to sucker the marks with breathless reports from the “Rapture Front Line” in Tel Aviv.

If you want to understand the $BC, just think of a hook nosed Israel Jew and a sweaty, obese redneck pastor in a cheap suit yukking it up over how they pulled the wool over the eyes of the sheep. That is the $BC in a nutshell.

  • Russell Moore is a mountebank and an appeaser. If Southern Baptists have any self-respect left, they will stop paying this narcissist to trash the very people who pay his salary in the pages of the New York Times.

    • I don’t know what the majority of those SBC’ers that are paying attention to the RM mess think, but I’ve seen a few of them on another blog insist that “he is a powerful and prophetic voice.”

I think the SBC is probably done. They oughta just get it over with an merge with the Episcopalians so the real Christians can form their loose alliance, which shouldn’t get into politics, but just pool their money of missionary efforts.

  • In 2005 or so, the official $outhern Baptist Convention website put up a video of some guy saying that the Bible predicted that Iran was going to attack Israel so America had to nuke Iran first. It was so blatantly and obviously a commercial paid for by AIPAC the backlash forced them to take it down within days. This “Christian” Zionism stuff is not at all traditional Baptist teaching, it’s basically a fad that infected the $BC in the 1970s when Bob Dylan pretended to be a Christian to get support from Evangelicals for the Zionist entity in Palestine.

So just follow the money – that is all the $BC is about anyway. Whoever signs the paychecks gets to decide the teachings. As you can see, it was when the 100 churches threatened to withhold funds that it all of a sudden became a crisis.

    • Because PERSIA is prophesied to be part of the Gog-Magog invasion in Ezekiel, no Christian would presume to think he could stop it.

All you have to do is evict the jews from the land and your right about Zionism.

Amos 9:14 And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them.
Amos 9:15 And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, saith the LORD thy God.

      • For one thousand and nine hundred years, the Christian church taught “preterism,” meaning that the Biblical prophesies had already been fulfilled by Christ.

        https://infogalactic.com/info/Preterism

Then, one thousand and nine hundred years later, the political Zionist movement paid some preachers to start saying that Jesus, the Apostles, and the Christian church had it all wrong for the entire history of Christianity and a bunch of atheist Jews were the only people who could “interpret” the Bible correctly, and the Bible “just happened” to really mean everything their political movement wanted it to say.

Of course greasing the palms of the likes of Dwight Moody and the Lyman Brothers helped a lot. I suspect it’s safe to assume that the $outhern Baptist Convention also had a “revelation” once the shekels changed hands. Ask the $Southern Baptist Convention’s Chief Prostitute, Mike Huckabee. Stick a dollar in that whore’s ass and he’ll suck and blow at the same time, truly a miracle.

        • Can you explain the Book of Amos? I don’t see any way around the text. I really don’t care what men say. I will gladly yield to what the Bible, the whole Bible, reads.

          • What particular aspect of Amos? It’s a relatively short prophecy mostly concerning the judgement of Israel, and towards the end, redemption for a remnant.

          • I have no argument with that. Indeed, it is necessary because …

Luke 1:31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.
Luke 1:32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
Luke 1:33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

            This hasn’t happened yet.

    • This “Christian” Zionism stuff is . . . a fad that infected the $BC in the 1970s when Bob Dylan pretended to be a Christian to get support from Evangelicals for the Zionist entity in Palestine.”

Nice – a true Hipster Racist insight. They’re gonna have to consider paying you a salary soon.

      • Oh it started earlier than that. It started at the exact same time as the political Zionist movement started, at the turn of the 20th century. Robert “Bob Dylan” Zimmerman was just a particularly colorful part of the scam. Those in the evangelical subculture were desperate for some “cool points” from the secular world. The fawning over Dylan “finding Jesus” was hilariously pathetic.

      • It started with two Jesuits, Ribera and Lacunza, then Darby, then Scofield, then the Rothschild-owned Oxford Press insetting the Scofield Reference Bible into the seminaries throughout most of the 20th Century. Hal Lindsey and the other newspaper eschatologists cashed in and gave the heresy some energy, cuz Muh 1948 “Israel.”

    • Hipster Racist, what in the f–k is this about? Genuinely curious:
“(((Bob Dylan.))) pretended to be a Christian to get support from Evangelicals for the Zionist entity in Palestine.”
OK, yeah he’s Jewish and as a member of the Tribe can be Jewy and what that does and doesn’t entail. Still, 1)Bob Dylan pretended to be Christian. AND 2) to get American Evangelicals to support Israel? I’d appreciate more information on this outrageous sounding and possibly slanderous accusation.
Also, got any links to your writings specifically on the 1960s Counter-Culture Hippie Movement being spawned and promoted by the Derp State, CIA in particular, in order to undermine political radicalism and the anti-war movement (((the Yippies))) and (((Abbie Hoffman))), for ex.)?

      • I don’t see what is so outrageous or slanderous about it. Do you really think Zimmerman had some sort of heartfelt conversion to, basically, the African Methodist Episcopal Church? As a Jew, he got a two-fer – not only was he helping get Christians on board with the Zionist entity in Palestine, he was instrumental in making Black Gospel popular among the Evangelitards.

Dylan was just one particularly obvious part of the 100 year long Zionist campaign that started with the First Zionist Congress in Basel, Switzerland, in 1896. No, this isn’t a “conspiracy theory” – it’s well known establishment history.

Good lord, Dylan wasn’t even particularly subtle about it. At the height of his “Christian” phase he put out “Neighborhood Bully,” a Zionist anthem directly squarely at his new Evangelical audience.

The Dylan part of the scam is well known – Adam Pearlman’s parents, that is still barely known because they were apparently terrible musicians and never made it big. It was up to their son, Adam “Gadahn” to really draw the suckers in.

“1960s Counter-Culture Hippie Movement being spawned and promoted by the
Derp State, CIA in particular, in order to undermine political
radicalism and the anti-war movement (((the Yippies))) and (((Abbie
        Hoffman))), for ex.)?”

Also written about extensively at http://hipsterracist.wordpress.com but that’s a pretty well known story at this point – Abbie Hoffman himself figured it out. Remember, Hoffman was a serious Communist that decried the new “hippies” more interested in drugging and screwing than real political activism. It was actually hilarious how CIA dosed him with LSD, wrote “FUCK” on his forehead and posed him with a machine gun for the cameras – even he eventually realized how badly he had been duped.

That was back in the days when the WASPs still had some control of the Deep State. You know the good old days.

  • The longer Moore has been at ERLC and in D.C., the more (pun intended) he has seemingly sought to separate himself from the people he is supposed to represent and instead identify with the D.C. power-brokers that so many well meaning people can’t help but curry favor with. You would think that after watching the decimation of “mainline” Protestants who tried to find favor with the world only to get slapped in the face and implode, Christians would stop thinking that they can win favor if they just suck up a little more.
